Curtis (Curt) Freeman is a highly respected geologist with more than 40 years of experience leading mineral exploration programs across Alaska and the broader Americas. A Certified Professional Geologist and licensed geologist in the State of Alaska, Curt is recognized for his deep technical expertise, regional geological knowledge, and his long history of guiding major discoveries through early-stage evaluation and advanced development.

Since founding Avalon Development in Fairbanks in 1985, Curt and his teams have conducted exploration throughout Alaska and across North, Central, and South America. He played a pivotal role as a Director of Contango ORE, contributing to the discovery and advancement of the Manh Choh gold deposit through to commercial production, one of the most significant recent gold developments in Alaska.

Curt has advised numerous public and private exploration companies and is widely regarded as one of Alaska’s foremost geological experts.
